Pacific Northwest Vacation Travel

Read More - Ashland - Seattle - Vancouver - Whistler -

When to go?
Seattle and Vancouver have a rainy reputation but that shouldn't deter you from visiting, especially June through September, when the sun shines the most. Pack a sweater and light jacket as summer evenings can be quite cool in the Pacific Northwest. Ashland's feature attraction, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, runs February through October.

Where to stay?
Hotels in the central business districts of Seattle and Vancouver place you within pleasant walking distance of many of the best tourist activities, including the waterfront areas. The West End of Vancouver is a quieter option, closer to Stanley Park. Whistler's pedestrian areas can be rowdy at night, so ask for rooms away from the action if you want to get to sleep early.

What to do?
For a truly colorful local experience, browse the Pike Market in Seattle and Granville Island's Public Market in Vancouver. In the evening, try one of the top rated Asian restaurants in both cities, they are truly extraordinary. The Pacific Northwest is also a natural paradise, so get outside and enjoy the ski slopes, bike paths, lakes, rivers and hiking trails. The Winter Olympics are coming to Vancouver in 2010, so now's your chance to enjoy the Pacific Northwest before the rest of world arrives.
