Moraine Lake, Banff Canada |
|
|
Moraine Lake is a hidden jewel in the Valley of the Ten Peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park, Canada near the larger Lake Louise. The lake is glacially fed and does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When full, it is a beautiful shade of blue due to the refraction of light off the rock flour continually deposited in the lake. Moraine Lake graced the back of Canadian $20 bills for many years.
