Boston Massachusetts Vacation Travel |

When to go? Boston Massachusetts weather has summer highs in the nineties and winter lows around zero. With such cold temperatures in winter, December to March is the only off-season for the city. In order to feel the essence of Boston, go in the fall, when the weather is crisp, the leaves are changing, the rain is rare and the rowers are on the water.

Where to stay? In Boston, whether you are at a four-star or five-star hotel in Copley Square or a historic brownstone inn near Cambridge, you are only a brisk walk or a short ride away from the beauty of the Charles River or the history of Beacon Hill. When choosing accommodations, be aware that the airport is across the harbor from the city, which adds $10 in fees and fare to the cab ride. Stay in Boston proper or Cambridge rather than at an airport hotel.

What to do? Even if you do not go for the history, you will see it everywhere. Look at your feet and you might see a red stripe on the sidewalk. That is the Freedom trail. Follow it in either direction, and you may find The Old North Church or the USS Constitution. Touring tip: the T is arranged like a wheel with spokes. Choose one of the lines per day and plan your activities accordingly to cut down on travel time.
