When to go?
On an island this small, you'll be visiting for the peace 'n quiet factor - so perhaps the best time to go to Bonaire is when you need to get away from it all. The island is out of the hurricane storm belt, so planning your vacation dates are really up to you. Bonaire's B&Bs, hotels, resorts and seaside bungalows are found around the coast of Kralendijk, the capital and largest town that faces Klein Bonaire. Avid windsurfers opt to stay on Lac Bay, on the windward side of the island.

What to do?
With over 200 species of winged wonders, Bonaire is a haven for bird-watching - particularly for flamingos inhabiting the island's salt flats. Be sure to catch Bonaire's vibrant underwater life by snorkeling on diving on the reefs of Klein Bonaire. Sera Largu offers great hiking, and Lac Bay is the place to go windsurfing or kayaking.
