When to go? Temperate year-round, the real question is when NOT to vacation in the Bahamas! The high season from December to April offers cool breezes from the Atlantic, but depending on your interests you may either want to avoid or purposefully plan your trip during the months of March and April: the college-centric Spring Break crowd definitely has a presence that is hard to overlook.

Where to stay? With so much to do in the Bahamas, picking the right base is important. All-inclusive resorts and hotels on any island cater to your every whim, yet Nassau and Grand Bahama Island offer more activities outside the resort's compound than some of the smaller islands. June through November is the hurricane Season. Make sure where you stay has a "Hurricane Hotel Policy" which gives refunds on bookings should a hurricane approach the islands.

What to do? Boxing Day (December 26th), is home to Junkanoo, a Bahamian parade and party reminiscent of Mardi Gras and Carnival. While dozens of cultural activities exist, most vacationers come for the turquoise waters and miles of sandy beaches. Water clarity in the Bahamas is the best in the world - over 200 ft (61 meters)! That makes for superb diving and snorkeling.
