When to go? Aruba is a true tourist island, "open for business" year round with great weather. The humidity factor stays pleasantly low here, thanks to the desert geography found inland. However, sunny skies and nice temps create a high demand season from November-April. With its South Caribbean location off the coast of Venezuela, Aruba is generally exempt from the tropical storm belt.

Where to stay? A few miles west of the capital are Eagle and Palm Beaches, offering a wide variety of lodging options. If you want a "home away from home," such as a timeshare or apartment with a kitchen and living area, Eagle Beach is the quieter, more family-oriented bet. If you're craving a styling boutique hotel or an all-inclusive resort, head to the more glamorous Palm Beach. For the budget-conscious, there are even motels inland.

What to do? English is spoken widely here, so you'll have no problem finding the vacation activities you're looking for, whether its windsurfing, golf or just tanning on one of Aruba's pure white sand beaches. The candy-colored waterfront of Oranjestad is where the action is, offering casinos, nightclubs and the island's most sophisticated restaurants and boutiques. To see how the traditional fisherman of Aruba spend their days, check out Savaneta - the island's largest town.
