Torres Del Paine, Chile

Torres del Paine is a national park in the southernmost region of Patagonian Chile. Considered by many to be the single best tourist destination in Chile, it is located in the Andes and features mountains, lakes and glaciers. Torres del Paine is Spanish for Towers of Paine with Paine being the original indigenous name for the color blue. It is a paradise for backpackers who make a ten-day trek of the prime attractions including the Cuernos del Paine (horn-like mountain tops), Grey Glacier, Lago Grey, Lago Pehoe, and Lago Sarmiento. UNESCO recognized it as a World Biosphere reserve in 1978.
